Erickson Named CGRMC Physician of the Year

June 06, 2010

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Thomas Erickson was named Casa Grande Regional Medical Center’s Physician of the Year this week during a medical staff meeting at the hospital. Erickson has been performing ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and other orthopedic surgeries at CGRMC for more than 26 years, and for the past seven years, he’s been the chief of the medical staff.

The award was supposed to have been presented to the winner on May 20 during CGRMC’s annual Employee Recognition celebration. Unfortunately, none of the 10 nominated physicians was able to attend that evening, so the award ceremony was postponed until Tuesday’s meeting.

The nominees were announced at the annual Employee Recognition celebration: Maria Abad, MD, Pediatrics; Erickson, MD, Orthopedics; Henry Givre, MD, Internal Medicine/Pulmonology; William Jaffe, DO, Internal Medicine/Cardiology; James Liguori, MD, Internal Medicine/Cardiology; Veeresh Moodabagilu, MD, Internal Medicine/Hospitalist; Ramon Mourelo, MD, Surgery; Michelle Shaw, MD, Emergency Medicine; Alex Twum-Ampofo, MD, Internal Medicine/Hospitalist; and Brian Zernich, DO, Radiology.
