The Medical Imaging Department of CGRMC provides a wide range of services including: general diagnostic radiology, general ultrasound, vascular ultrasound, breast ultrasound and procedures, interventional radiology, echo cardiogram, CAT scan including CT angiography, cardiac calcium scoring and virtual colonoscopy. Our ultrasound Department is ACR Accredited (American College of Radiology). In the area of nuclear medicine, we have two dual head variable angle cameras, comparable to the technology that is available in the Phoenix area. More than fifty percent of nuclear medicine studies at CGRMC are cardiac procedures.

Our newest CT scanner is a 64-slice scanner with 0.33 millisecond rotation capability. The 64-slice scanner is cutting edge technology and actively manages radiation doses in 100 percent of spiral examinations, blocking unnecessary doses for the patient before and after the spiral scan. This multi-slice scanner currently is used for CTA (angiography), cardiac scoring, and virtual colonoscopy.

CGRMC's Medical Imaging Department uses PACS (Picture Archival Communication System). This system manages images in a fully digital environment. Benefits include the elimination of lost films, faster turn around time for results and allows physicians immediate access to images and results via the internet. PACS integrates reports with images and allows physicians access at any time and any place with an internet connection. This allows CGRMC to be more efficient in meeting the needs of both our patients and our staff.
